I had big plans for 2020. This was the year I was going to check a travel destination off my bucket list by finally visiting Angkor Wat, Cambodia. Of course, COVID-19 happened and travel restrictions were imposed to help curb the spread of the coronavirus which ultimately halted my travel plans.
With the news of states slowly beginning to reopen and popular tourist destinations like Disney World actually setting a date for a phased opening, my wanderlust has resurfaced. In my own city of Las Vegas, casinos will open next week. Just this morning I read of a casino owner in Downtown Vegas giving away 1,000 free flights to help reinvigorate travel to Las Vegas.
I feel really blessed to live in this sparkly city. It remains at the top of the list for favorite travel destinations in the United States. On one street, Las Vegas Boulevard – The Strip, I can walk to Caesers Palace and see replicas of the monuments in Italy. I am able to marvel at the replicas of the Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge at New York-New York Hotel & Casino. I am forever amazed at the 540 foot tall replica of the Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas.
