Before I walked into this cozy tea store, my knowledge of tea consisted of the basics. I knew green tea was an antioxidant and had many health benefits like preventing cancer. I also knew that I liked the Lipton diet green tea that I would often buy at the grocery store. I have to add that I am also obsessed with Boba tea which is tea with those clear, pearl balls in the drink.
Being that I am primarily a coffee drinker, I never gave much thought to tea. After my class on Oolong teas at Tea and Whisk, I have a much better understanding and appreciation for it. Leo was our teacher for the day.
He taught us about the history of teas, the various classifications, and proper steeping techniques. We also had the opportunity to try the different teas served at various temperatures which really did make a difference on the density and taste of the tea.
Tea and Whisk has over 70 different types of loose leaf teas for sale: Black, Green, Herbal, Rooibos, Oolong and White teas. At their tea bar, there is an array of handcrafted teas you can buy to drink while at the store. The store is quaint and cozy; it is the perfect place to sit and enjoy a cup of your favorite flavor!
Below is a video tour of the store and a gallery of photos. Click on photo to see entire gallery. They are located at 10271 S. Eastern Avenue in Henderson, Nevada. Check them out!
Here are their hours of operation:
Sunday 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Monday – Thursday 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Friday – Saturday 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Wow, this place is absolutely good. Not much of a tea drinker, but would love to hear about teas history.
This place looks absolutely fabulous. My husband loves tea & I am kind of like eh, about tea. However, I would love to go to this place & sample all these amazing teas.
Oh, I would love visiting that place! I have been drinking tea, primarily, since my teens ( and I’m 59 now!) I like green tea, white tea, matcha tea, and chai tea; oolong tea occasionally; and one of my favorites, Constant Comment tea, which has an orange flavor to it. I drink green tea every morning with honey in it.
Wow I would love to listen to Leo teaching the history of teas, that would be so interesting to know. 70 different kinds of loose teas in Tea and Whisk, I wanna try them all 🙂
Wow, I never knew there so much info to know about tea! Thanks for sharing

Next time we are in Nevada I need to check this out because our local tea store is closing.

Funny you should say that. The person teaching the tea class likened the experience to wine tasting .Thanks for reading! 🙂
Sounds like a great place to visit so that you can really appreciate different teas. Being from the UK we are big tea drinkers but I am guilty of loving English breakfast Tea or Assam only.
Oh yes, you guys are definitely tea drinkers! I have a greater appreciation of the different types of teas after my class here. Thanks for stopping by 🙂
