Las Vegas is a popular destination for New Year’s Eve celebrations. In fact, we expect over 300,000 tourists to visit our city in a few days. If you are here to ring in the New Year with us, read on for a few important reminders when celebrating on the Strip.

Where Can You Watch the Fireworks?
There will be a fireworks display starting at midnight for about 10 minutes from the rooftops of The Venetian, Stratosphere, ARIA, MGM Grand, Planet Hollywood, Treasure Island and Caesers Palace.

What Are Some Important Reminders?
– From 6 p.m. on December 31st to 6 a.m. on January 1st, glassware and aluminum cans are banned on the Strip.
– You will not be allowed to carry backpacks, strollers, coolers or bags
larger than 12” x 6” x 12”.

Will There be Road Closures?
5:45 p.m.     Closure of westbound streets going towards the Strip between Sahara Avenue and Mandalay Bay Road

6:00 p.m.     Closure of all major east/west streets that lead to the Strip

6:30 p.m.     The Strip / Las Vegas Boulevard will be closed to all traffic

3:15 a.m.     The roads will begin to open for all traffic

There will also be freeway ramp closures. Off-ramps from I-15 on to eastbound Tropicana Avenue, Flamingo Road and Spring Mountain Road will close at 5 p.m. on December 31st and reopen at 3:15 a.m. on January 1st.
