I have an unhealthy obsession with my skin. I have come to accept, however, that no matter how often I go to the dermatologist, my dream of having flawless skin has somewhat been impeded by genetics. I am also not an expert at applying makeup so creating that flawless look often
eludes me. Thankfully, I have opportunities to attend events such as the one recently hosted by fashion stylist, Christie Moeller, at NARS Cosmetics located at The Forum Shops at Caesers Palace. This is where I learned that even if you aren’t born with “it,” you certainly can achieve whatever look you want with the right products and proper application.
The exclusive NARS and Man Ray event featured senior NARS artist, Julia Sohn, sharing her expertise on makeup techniques to create impeccable results featuring NARS’ newly launched Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation and their holiday collection inspired by renowned photographer Man Ray.
I took the opportunity to sit with one of the makeup artists to experience their foundation which actually launched on the day of the event I attended. After the makeup artist asked me a few questions about my skin type and tested a few colors, she went to work on making me beautiful and flawless!
Here are the products she used on me: NARS Soft Matte Concealer in Honey, NARS Smooth and Protect Primer, and NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation in Punjab.
I love the new foundation. It feels really light on the skin yet gives full coverage with a matte finish. It erased my flaws and made me look like I actually got 8-9 hours of sleep which never happens! I think the word “radiant” is the perfect description for the results you get after using this foundation.
NARS’ first 16 hour foundation is infused with raspberry, apple, and watermelon extracts to help instantly improve the look of your skin. It feels as if you are applying a light moisturizer when you first put it on your face and has such a natural appearance. I recommend it. You can find it at NARS for $49 at The Forum Shops if you are in Las Vegas. Click here to see all 33 skin-matching shades.
It was only about five years ago when NARS began doing collaborations with artists, the first being with Andy Warhol. Every year, the artist list grows and seems to get better. This holiday season, they have teamed up with French photographer, Man Ray, to create a gorgeous collection which showcases new shades of eye shadow, lipstick, lip gloss and blush. Ladies, I see shades of gold in the collection. Yes, gold! There are also cute mini gift sets which are perfect stocking stuffers! Click here to see the full collection.
Thank you again Christie and to the NARS team for hosting such a great event. Thank you for the cute gift bag as well! Below are some photos from the event including more great products from NARS!
